A healthy dose of creativity: Health Canada selects Banfield as lead creative agency

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (May 25, 2020): Health Canada has selected Banfield as its lead marketing and advertising creative agency.

In an open competitive bid process, the federal department chose Banfield to provide a full range of creative development and advertising-related services for various Health Canada marketing campaigns.

“We’re all very aware of the critical importance of health and wellness right now — in fact, it’s all many of us can think about,” states Véronique Gravel, Banfield’s Director of Client Services. “We’re excited for the opportunity to continue working with Health Canada and contribute to our nation’s public health priorities as we move forward together. We’re grateful to be able to do compelling work that is also meaningful and has real potential to make a difference in lives and communities across Canada.”

In the role of lead creative agency, Banfield will continue to help Health Canada in its commitment to improving the lives of all of Canada’s people and to making this country’s population among the healthiest in the world as measured by longevity, lifestyle and effective use of the public health care system.

“We are pleased to continue building the relationship we have established with Banfield over the past few years,” says Sandra Donatucci, Chief of Marketing, Marketing, Partnerships, and Creative Services Division serving Health Canada and The Public Health Agency of Canada. “As we look ahead, there are certainly critical health issues that we will need to engage with Canadians on. Banfield has helped us do that very well — and we look forward to collaborating with them in the days and years ahead.”

Over the past three years, Banfield and Health Canada have worked together on national campaigns for key issues including opioids harm reduction and stigma awareness, youth vaping prevention, and the launch of the new Canada’s food guide. Other initiatives have included tobacco cessation and the Break it off website, as well as safe food handling for at risk populations.
