
The Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) is one of the world’s leading animation events, attracting people from around the globe. But, with COVID-19 shutting down movie theatres, OIAF had to screen the entire event online for the first time in its history. And they had to tell the world about it, while still showcasing the breadth of quirky animation the festival has to offer.


To help OIAF draw attention to this change, we invited audiences to uncover something different from the comfort of their own homes. We combined original photography with custom illustrations to represent the range of films shown at the festival. We even created short videos for social to show how one of these animated invasions might play out.
It all added up to an unignorable campaign that embodied what OIAF is all about — beautiful, unexpected animation.
