In its first redesign in 12 years, the Food Guide took a major step forward, moving from a traditional illustration style to bright lifestyle photography. The message shifted too, leaving prescriptive portion sizes in the past and focusing on healthy eating habits, balanced proportions and diversity.

It has sparked conversation across the country and captured the attention of several prominent Canadian voices, who championed its clarity, simplicity and modern appearance. Above all, it put food front and center, creating an easy and inspiring way for Canadians to eat well and live well for years to come.
