Extra, extra! Here’s the latest news at Banfield

Forward. It’s the direction we like to travel here at Banfield, and a lot of great things have been happening lately that help us continue embracing that movement.

Sometimes that also means we don’t have time to keep our clients, partners and friends up to date about our recent news and successes. So, we decided to shine a spotlight on some of them in this article to let you know what we’ve been up to!

Forbes Agency Council

We’re proud to announce that our Digital Director and Partner, Kelly Rusk, was accepted into the Forbes Agency Council!

This is an invitation-only group that connects senior level executives at successful public relations, media strategy, creative and advertising agencies to collaborate together. This will help enhance Banfield’s position as industry leaders and strengthen our connection with other professionals across a number of different industries, and we’re looking forward to where this will take us!

IABC Gold Quill Awards

We recently won two International Association of Business Communicators’ Gold Quill awards, and we’re very excited because these are our first IABC awards at this level!

The first Gold Quill is for EDC’s Ocean Rodeo Social Media Campaign. We helped EDC build strong brand awareness among its target audience with the launch of this digital campaign and we followed Simon Sinek’s Golden Circle model. We put emotional appeal front and center as a way of building audience connection, and that helped us exceed all of our objectives, and then some!

The second award is for brand and advertising for the Hydro Ottawa 2015 Go Paperless Campaign. In this campaign we built on the successes and lessons learned during the two previous e-billing campaigns and surpassed all of our key objectives. We helped reinforce Hydro Ottawa’s brand positioning as an efficient, well-managed company with a vibrant social conscience and strong environmental commitment.

Exciting promotion

We’re happy to let everybody know about our newest strategic promotion of Lindsay Gavey from Account Director and Strategist to Director of Marketing Strategy!

Lindsay has been with Banfield since 2013 and is a very valuable member of our team. In her new role, she’ll be working collaboratively with clients to conduct research, clarify objectives, develop marketing, media and strategic plans, and to maximize the impact of marketing communications.

MARCOM 2017 roundtable

Our Chief Creative Strategist, Olivier Fortin, is hosting a roundtable at the MARCOM conference this year!

He’ll be focusing on storytelling in marketing and discussing the value of bringing members of your extended networks into your communications, as a part of what organizations can do when their products or services don’t lend themselves well to a narrative on their own.

C2MTL 2017 social squad

This year, Kelly Rusk and our Community and Content Strategist, Jessica Kovar, travelled to Montréal to represent Banfield among a team of 21 social media experts as part of the C2 Conference social squad!

They captured and posted content in real time throughout the three-day event and got a chance to connect with and be inspired by other decision makers and creative minds such as Steve Wozniak, Jade Raymond and others.

Banfield legend retires

After 40 years, our beloved employee Bill Joiner retires. Bill was a huge part of our personality at the office, during special events, and within the Banfield family as a whole.

We have only good memories of Bill’s time at Banfield (some of which can’t be repeated due to the nature of his antics) and will miss seeing him around the building!
