GRAMMY awards, here we come!
Banfield recently made its music video production debut with “Release Me”, the latest single and first music video from award-winning singer-songwriter Mandy Harvey. Mandy is known for her run on America’s Got Talent, where she came in fourth performing original songs.
And not only is she an accomplished musician, Mandy is also an advocate for accessibility and a firm believer that you can overcome any obstacle. She’s proof of that, too: Mandy fully lost her hearing in 2007, and taught herself to sing again using visual tuners and vibration to recognize the feeling of different pitches.
The video for “Release Me” is a beautiful homage to accessibility. Alongside the vocals, Mandy recreates the feeling of the lyrics through sign. The result is something anyone can experience — no matter their abilities. Plus, the video is fully captioned in four languages, including American Sign Language gloss.
We’re incredibly proud to have had the opportunity to work with someone who’s making major waves in helping the music industry become more accessible and inclusive. Check out the video:
